Kodak ZX1 - Kodak HD Camcorder
The ZX1 is the budget choice of Mini HD camcorders, but despite this, it does have options and features that others of the same price range do not. Exposure and autofocus are quickly adjusted due to the high speed processor, and the camcorder takes 720p HD video at up to 60 frames per second (fps). It is quite surprising that this amount of technology has been crammed into such a small unit at such a low price. It is powered by 2x AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, (batteries and battery charger included), and if you do get cut short it will run on standard AA batteries (although not for long).
Although not waterproof, it's tough exterior is water and dust resistant, and it will easily fit into most pockets or handbags. You will need to purchase a HSSDC card for memory storage, but at this price that isn't surprising - and you can have up to 32GB of memory, which is a lot of video, and so you are not going to have to upload data to your PC to empty your memory after each bout of filming. At this price the only things that can be said are - it's from Kodak, who have remained in the game for so long due to their reliability, and it's got the specs - at the very least it's a cheap introduction into the world of HD camcorders, although you may be surprised at how long it takes before you feel the need to upgrade.

Kodak ZX1 - Review
This is a very cute product. We bought it because we hardly ever took our camcorder with us because it was too big. The Zx1 fits into your pocket so we take it everywhere. The software is easy to use too. The only thing is that the instructions are rubbish, and the camera isn't totally intuitive, with one button doing lots of random things. But the end product, ie the videos, are good. The photos, however, aren't good, so don't imagine it will replace a decent digital camera. Overall very pleased with it though. By G.
