Panasonic SD60 - Panasonic HD Camcorder
With it's wide angle, full spec HD recording and anti camera shake, the SD60 is in the top end of the non professional range of HD camcorders. Sound is not neglected either, as it has a microphone which can pick up sounds that other models will miss (it's up to you whether you want to edit those sounds out later using PC or MAC software). The wide angle lens ensures that you capture the most of your subject, and is a particularly great feature when filming outdoors, as it really makes the most of landscapes.
It's 25x optical zoom is a distinct advantage over the image quality reducing digital zooms of other camcorders in the price range. When using the zoom, handshake is is not a problem due to Power O.I.S. technology, which eliminates the need for a tripod, and makes producing a great looking video a much less daunting task than with other models. The more that the camera takes care of during shooting, the less you have to edit out after if you want to show your friends and family that you are becoming more than your average novice film-maker. Although it doesn't have an onboard HDD, in all other areas it sets a standard for HD specifications and at the price it is well within the reach of most consumers who want a reliable camcorder to record those moments that will never be repeated.

Panasonic SD60 - Review
Easy to use, small, outstanding picture quality, packed with features that just work fuss free, what more can be said about this? There's a bewildering range of HD camcorders on the market and it's pretty hard to distinguish which is the right one for you. This Panasonic offered as much, if not more, than the popular Sony models, but has the advantage of using SD cards rather than Sony's own stick media - a plus for me as we have other devices which use SD cards. It's also a lot cheaper than the premium Canon models, but certainly holds it's own in the quality stakes. Bang for buck it's a great choice. Super happy purchaser. Monica Worboys (UK)
